Each print is produced in a closed edition of just seven (7). Printed on premium Hahnemühle 310 gsm, 100% cotton, museum-grade paper and framed to archival standards. About the artwork style
Advancements in printing technology during the late 1800s helped give rise to a new era of poster art through stone lithography. What began primarily as commercial advertising quickly evolved into a celebrated art form across Europe and helped lay the foundation for the vintage and mid-century poster aesthetic we admire today.
Although this style flourished internationally for decades, Hawai‘i largely missed the era of large-format advertising posters. In 1912, a group of women who would later form The Outdoor Circle began advocating to protect the Islands’ natural beauty from outdoor advertising and billboards. As a result, much of Hawai‘i’s vintage commercial artwork from this era survives in smaller formats such as magazine advertisements, luggage labels, travel brochures, and matchbook covers. My work draws inspiration from this tradition while imagining what large-format Hawaiian poster art from that era might have looked like.
Why Limited Edition?
There is a meaningful difference between art created for collecting and art created primarily as decor. Today, artwork can easily be reproduced on everything from T-shirts to coffee mugs. While this accessibility has its place, I believe collectible artwork deserves a more intentional approach—one in which the artist controls the size, materials, color, presentation, and number of pieces produced. This body of work is the culmination of more than 25 years of design experience. Each piece is created and produced under carefully controlled conditions to preserve the quality, character, and integrity of the artwork. For that reason, I limit each edition to only seven (7) prints. This unusually small edition gives collectors the opportunity to own something genuinely rare while preserving the exclusivity and value of the work.
What does a Closed Edition Mean?
Once all seven (7) prints in an edition have been produced and sold, the artwork will never be reproduced again at another size or on another medium. Each piece is hand-signed and individually numbered and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. This certificate serves as my written commitment that the artwork will not be reproduced as another print edition or offered on other products or mediums. (This restriction does not include photographs or reproductions of the artwork used exclusively for advertising, editorial, portfolio, or promotional purposes.)
How is the artwork created?
Each piece is hand-drawn digitally using layering techniques, brushes, textures, and methods inspired by traditional stone lithography. Before the final edition is produced, the artwork goes through a series of test prints known as artist’s proofs. These proofs allow me to carefully evaluate color, texture, contrast, and detail before approving the final edition. The artwork is built using carefully selected spot colors, overlays, and screened textures to create a harmonious palette reminiscent of vintage lithographic printing. The final piece is produced using a 12-color giclée printing process on premium Hahnemühle 310 gsm, 100% cotton, museum-grade paper. The result is a museum-quality piece with a wide color gamut, rich tones, subtle texture, and exceptionally dense blacks.
Can I choose a different frame?
Yes. Because each piece is framed to order, custom framing is available. I have selected a specific frame for each artwork based on the color, style, and overall presentation of the piece, but I’m happy to discuss other framing options if you prefer something different for your space. Do you ship internationally?
Yes. International shipping is available. To help reduce shipping costs and protect the artwork during transit, international orders are shipped unframed in a large protective tube. Please contact me for international pricing, shipping details, and available options before placing your order.
Can I see the work in person?

Boat Days looks back to an era when Honolulu Harbor served as one of Hawai‘i’s great gateways to the world. During the early and mid-20th century, passenger ships arriving from the mainland brought travelers into Honolulu at piers such as Pier 10, where their first encounter with Hawai‘i often included music, flowers, lei vendors, and the warmth of island hospitality. In this scene, a Hawaiian woman dressed in island attire evokes the colorful dockside culture that greeted arriving and departing passengers during the golden age of ocean travel. Before commercial air travel became commonplace, these ships connected Hawai‘i with the mainland and helped establish Honolulu as a destination filled with mystery, beauty, and anticipation. Boat Days celebrates that romantic chapter of Hawaiian history—a time when arriving in the islands was an event in itself and the experience of aloha began the moment a ship reached the harbor.

Sail On captures the color, movement, and sense of freedom that make Hawai‘i’s waters so unforgettable. Viewed from above, a lone sailboat moves through brilliant turquoise water as it rounds Diamond Head, its bright yellow sail standing in sharp contrast to the deep blues and greens of the Pacific. In the distance, the unmistakable pink silhouette of the Royal Hawaiian Hotel anchors the scene in Waikīkī, adding a nostalgic connection to one of Hawai‘i’s most iconic stretches of coastline.
The piece is inspired by the feeling of being out on the water in the trade winds, where the city begins to fall away and the ocean takes over. A white koa‘e kea, or white-tailed tropicbird, adds another distinctly Hawaiian element to the composition, reinforcing the sense of movement and open air. The layered color, elevated perspective, and vintage-inspired styling are meant to capture more than a specific place—they reflect the experience of Hawai‘i itself: sunlight on the water, wind in the sail, and the pull of the horizon.
For me, Sail On is a reminder of what it feels like to leave the shoreline behind and head toward something beautiful.

Kaukahi, the Hawaiian word for a single-hulled canoe, speaks to both the craftsmanship and quiet elegance of a bygone Waikīkī. It recalls a time when the islands moved at a slower rhythm and the evening air carried the promise of a one-of-a-kind adventure. Waikīkī hotels once offered guests twilight canoe rides on the waves at Canoes, giving visitors an opportunity to experience the ocean as part of their stay. In this scene, a visitor wearing a floral one-piece swimsuit stands at the water’s edge holding a steersman’s paddle carved from a single piece of Hawaiian wood, preparing for a ride across the evening rollers. Diamond Head rests in the distance while scattered shoreline lights shimmer across the water, and a canoe can be seen riding the swell in the fading light. Kaukahi captures the charm of a simpler Waikīkī, when visitors encountered Hawai‘i not only through its scenery, but through its people, traditions, and life on the ocean.
