Each original watercolor is a one-of-a-kind painting created by hand. Many of my half-sheet original watercolors are painted on Arches acid-free, 100% cotton watercolor paper manufactured in France and measure approximately 22.5 inches wide by 15 inches high. When professionally framed and matted, the finished size is generally around 28.5 inches wide by 21.25 inches tall. I use acid-free framing materials and UV-protective glass to help preserve the artwork for years to come.

My Fine Art Giclée prints are archival-quality reproductions created from my original watercolor paintings. The artwork is professionally scanned and color-corrected before being printed on heavyweight, acid-free, textured fine-art paper to preserve the color, detail, and character of the original painting. Prints are available matted or professionally framed in selected frame styles, with framed pieces protected by UV-resistant glass. Many finished framed watercolor prints measure approximately 20 inches wide by 16 inches tall and are typically produced and shipped within approximately two to three weeks.

Many of my watercolor prints are produced as limited editions and are hand-signed and numbered. Edition information is listed on the individual artwork page so you can see whether a particular piece is limited or open edition before purchasing. For limited-edition artwork, once the designated edition has sold, no additional prints in that edition are produced.

Each large-format piece begins as an original digital drawing that I build by hand using layers, brushes, textures, spot colors, overlays, and screened effects inspired by traditional stone lithography. Before producing the final edition, I make a series of artist’s proofs so I can evaluate color, texture, contrast, and fine detail. The finished artwork is printed using a 12-color giclée process on Hahnemühle 310 gsm, 100% cotton, museum-grade paper. This process produces a wide color gamut, rich tones, subtle texture, and exceptionally deep blacks.

Advances in printing during the late 1800s helped create a golden age of large-format poster art, particularly through stone lithography. While this style became prominent throughout Europe and elsewhere, Hawai‘i developed differently. Beginning in the early 1900s, the women who later formed The Outdoor Circle advocated for protecting Hawai‘i’s natural landscape from billboards and outdoor advertising, which meant much of Hawai‘i’s historic commercial artwork appeared instead in smaller formats such as magazine advertisements, luggage labels, travel brochures, and matchbook covers.
