This mixed-media print began with a handmade lei created from materials my daughter and I gathered together in Honolulu’s Chinatown. I painted the finished lei one leaf at a time, capturing its natural shapes, colors, and the beautiful round seeds of the he‘e berry. After scanning the original painting, I paired it with a solid, silkscreen-inspired background that gives the lei a bold, contemporary presence. Small areas of newsprint are subtly incorporated into the leaves, adding texture and visual interest.

Available in four background colors, each piece comes professionally framed with a double acid-free mat and UV-protective glass.

About the Artwork
Lei He‘e is an open-edition fine art print created from my original watercolor artwork and produced with close attention to color, detail, and print quality. These prints are designed to make my Hawai‘i-inspired work available in a more accessible format while preserving the character and texture of the original artwork.

Each print is produced using archival-quality giclée printing on premium Hahnemühle 310 gsm, 100% cotton, museum-grade paper and framed to archival standards. These materials are selected for their exceptional color reproduction, longevity, and ability to capture the subtle textures and layered colors of the original artwork.

Open-Edition Prints
Unlike my large-format closed-edition artwork, these pieces are offered as open-edition prints. This means there is no predetermined limit on the number of prints that may be produced. Offering these works as open editions allows me to make the artwork available in a wider range of sizes and price points while maintaining a high standard of printing and presentation.

Can I Choose a Different Frame?
Yes. Because each piece is framed to order, custom framing is available. I have selected a specific frame for the artwork based on its color, style, and overall presentation, but after you place your order, I would be happy to provide alternative frame options.

Do You Ship Internationally?
Yes. International shipping is available. To help reduce shipping costs and protect the artwork during transit, international orders are shipped unframed in a large protective tube. Please contact me for international pricing, shipping details, and available options before placing your order.
